After five months of incarceration over a petty probation violation that an angry Judge turned into a 2-4 year prison sentence, MEEK MILL is finally free!
MEEK MILL was officially released from Chester Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania today, April 24, 2018, much to the delight of his family, friends, colleagues and millions of fans!
The support he received during his stint in prison was overwhelming. Countless fans and celebrities repeatedly rallied, tweeted and voiced their disdain over his wrongful conviction. DRAKE even donned a “Free Meek Mill” t-shirt despite their rap battles.
MEEK was freed due to undeniable evidence that his 2007 gun and drugs case was effected by a corrupt police officer. Furthermore, Judge Genece Brinkley who presided over his subsequent probation case, was deemed to have a personal grudge against the defendant and was eventually overruled by the Supreme Court of Philadelphia.
Unfortunately, there a hundreds of thousands of cases where this type of injustice is practiced. We can only hope that this case has shed an even brighter spotlight on the corrupt practices that are keeping our men and women of color either behind bars or fighting cases.
Welcome home MEEK MILL! We look forward to having you back on the BillBoard Charts and ‘at them Sixer’s games on wood‘. We are happy to see your nightmare turn into a dream.
