New artist, Lil Shakur, was born and raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, listening to rap phenomenons The Notorious B.I.G., Jay Z, and Fabolous.
Shakur embraced their influences then created his own style and lyrical flow that fuses Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Trap, and Reggae music genres. This is evident on his latest single, “Never Wake Up” which premiered in November of 2018 on 105.1’s DJ SELF Show and HOT 97’s DJ Drewski Show.
And he is no stranger to the stage. He’s gone from performing in various talent competitions as a kid, to performing alongside PNB Rock and opening up for artists MoneyBagg Yo and RIch The Kid.
Shakur is eager to dominate the industry as an entertainer and a businessman. He has recorded tracks with established artists Troy Ave (“Talkin’ Bout Money”) and Kidd Kidd (“The Streets”) plus started his label, F1 Records and the F1 Music Group.
The young lyricist is also very involved in helping his community. He organized the “Stop the Violence” concert series to raise awareness about violence in the black community. The event has grown to the point where it is sponsored by Monster Energy Drink, F.E.D.S. Magazine and HOT 97!
