This lady needs no introduction…2 gold albums, numerous BillBoard charting records and a brand new single, “GIMMI WAY“, that has the dancehall scene buzzing. The Queen of the Pack is back…make way!
PATRA, the pride of Westmoreland in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I., started her music career as a dancehall deejay and flourished into a superstar, sex symbol, singer/songwriter and thrilling performer…there was nothing she couldn’t do.
Her debut album, “QUEEN OF THE PACK“, went gold and spawned 2 BillBoard Hot 100 charting singles; “Workerman” and “Romantic Call” featuring South Central L.A. Rapper, Yo-Yo. She quickly became one of the most in demand female artists of the 90’s.
The sophomore jinx didn’t work on the Queen. One year later she dropped “Scent of Attraction“. This album would also go gold and send 2 more singles to the BillBoard Hot 100; “Pull up to the bumper” and “Scent of Attraction” featuring Aaron Hall of GUY.
Over the next decade, PATRA released a few more projects before deciding that it was time for a pause. She removed herself from the public eye and limited the people who had personal access to her. “It was time for me to rejuvenate my mind, body and soul. I spent time alone and cleansed my spirit. It moved me closer to GOD. Now I am at peace spiritually and feeling great physically. Look at me! I look as young and as amazing as I feel! Praise be to Jah.”
During her hiatus, PATRA continued her education earning a Bachelor’s degree in history and political science. She also earned a Culinary Arts degree and turned her passion for cooking into big business. She opened Chateau Seven Gourmet Restaurant in Kingston, Jamaica’s first and only gourmet jerk centre.
Fast forward to 2022, a surprise appearance on DJ Cassidy’s “Pass the Mic: BET Afterparty 2022” would remind PATRA of how much she missed the music, the performances and her fans. “WOW, I was so touched by the response I received! My fans are the best, I love you all. I’m in the right mind for studio vibes now.”
The Queen of the Pack is back with her dynamic new single, “GIMMI WAY“, setting the stage for her resurgence. Catch her live this summer joined by legendary reggae artists Shabba Ranks, Capleton Mad Cobra, Beenie Man, Barrington Levy, Yellow Man, Elephant Man Little Vicious and Notch with music by none other than Bobby Konders and Jabba, and DJ Ted Smooth. PATRA is putting the final touches on her new project with the help of producer and longtime friend, General Degree. “My music is art. And it must be done right with love and passion. For me it’s all about love. Seeing people happy and loving themselves and vibin’ to the rhythm. I’m very excited to be back and I can not wait for you guys to hear what the General and the Queen have been cooking up!”
